We've been having fun with a very silly writing assignment.
I found a stocking outline on Google Images, and copied it for my kids (and one for me!). Then I assigned them to write a Christmas Wishlist for someone else. It could be a friend, or a character in literature or popular culture.
We've done this a few times now, and so far we've had lists from Molly Weasley (who wanted a Gilderoy Lockhart charms bracelet and a weekly visit from a house elf), Drew Carey (who wanted to know whose line it really was, anyway) and both our cats.
